FCC Chairman
to nail Janet Jackson after Super Bowl breast incident
The head of the FCC, Michael Powell, was quoted as saying his
reaction to seeing Janet's breast during the Super Bowl was "thorough
and swift". To date, Powell cannot recall a more “stirring”
incident of nudity on television.
Powell stated that there will be a thorough investigation, requiring
repeated viewings of the revealing incident and likely resulting
in “large, stiff” fines for those involved. “Particularly
Miss Jackson,” Powell was quoted as saying. "Oh yes.
She will be punished.”
Powell stated that the exposing of Janet’s breast “tainted”
what was supposed to be his family's Super Bowl celebration. Instead,
the weekend turned into a spectacle of debauchery followed by
self-loathing. "I felt dirty," he continued.
Powell has said he will schedule a meeting with Miss Jackson,
possibly over dinner.
FCC rules prohibit television stations from airing indecent and
obscene content. And Powell proclaimed Janet’s breast to
be both, as well as noting the "high rewatchability factor".
Powell, in fact, stated he missed the second half of the game
because he was busy rewinding his Tivo to “study”
the incident more closely, while lighting candles and incense
to secure the mood. Powell’s wife was quoted as saying,
“He was so disturbed by what happened that he locked himself
in the bathroom and wouldn’t come out for some time. I think
he was crying.”
